    KEEPING SAFEChild finger painting

If you are feeling unsafe you need a safety plan. A safety plan is thinking about what you can do to keep yourself safe.

    • Tell someone you trust
    • Ask for help
    • Talk to a parent or other family member or adult until someone listens
    • Talk to a friend
    • Talk to a teacher
    • Talk to a neighbour
    • Go to a safe place (your room and close the door, your closet, another room you feel safe in, your neighbors, your friends, a relative
    • Where you can go to feel safe if you have to leave your house. It is important to know these things about yourself in case you need to leave your house.
      • Your phone number
      • Your address
      • A phone number of an adult that you trust

Have a small bag of things you need hidden somewhere you can get to it in case you need to leave your house. You can have your phone number and address and a person you trust’s phone number written down on a piece of paper and put in this bag as well.
